Castle Rock belongs to Golden Valley and the greater Kingman area. Here's what that looks like in practice.
Christmas at Castle Rock
Every Christmas Day the doors are unlocked and a traditional Christmas meal is on the house. Free, open to everyone, no qualification and no questions. The only thing you pay for is alcohol, because Arizona law says so.
Year one. The family funded it and cooked it themselves.
Year two, after the community started donating — one neighbor alone brought 20 turkeys and 10 hams.
"You could have a million dollars in the bank and nobody to eat with — that's a real need. You could have ten mouths to feed and no way to feed them — that's a real need too. So we unlock the door and let whoever comes, come."
4-H, FFA and youth
We host events with local 4-H and FFA chapters through the year, with a portion of proceeds donated back to the kids and their programs. The arena gives us room to do it properly, and youth events are a permanent part of the plan as the property grows.
Why our prices look like this
This isn't Las Vegas and we don't price like it. In Vegas a kitchen like ours would chase a very different number. Out here, we'd rather the standard stay high and the check stay fair — best possible quality, portions that send you home with a box, at a price the community can actually pay.
